After only one run in their last contest, Stanton made sure to put some runs up on the board against Raines on Monday. The Blue Devils blew past the Vikings 13-7. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.
Leah Joseph was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. Joseph was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Talayah Pusey was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Bailey Forrest, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Stanton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Stanton's record is now 9-4. As for Raines, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.
Coming up, Stanton will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Parker at 6:00 p.m. As for Raines, they will head out to square off against ED White at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
