Basketball Game Preview: Cedar Shoals Jaguars vs. Flowery Branch Falcons

The Cedar Shoals Jaguars will head out to take on the Flowery Branch Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Cedar Shoals and seven for Flowery Branch.

Cedar Shoals is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Madison County on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Cedar Shoals was outmatched by Madison County and fell 54-27. The Jaguars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-12.

Meanwhile, Flowery Branch took a blow against East Forsyth on Tuesday, falling 70-17. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while the Broncos are ranked 199th).

Flowery Branch's loss dropped their record down to 3-20. As for Cedar Shoals, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-17.

Everything came up roses for Cedar Shoals against Flowery Branch when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured a 52-15 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cedar Shoals since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
