Baseball Game Preview: Cranston East Thunderbolts vs. Cranston West Falcons

An exciting East v. West battle is about to be fought. The Cranston East Thunderbolts will welcome the Cranston West Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Cranston East is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Cranston East is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell just short of Coventry by a score of 6-5 on Wednesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Harrison Fisher made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Those runs marked the first that he scored this season.

Meanwhile, Cranston West faced Bishop Hendricken in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Falcons lost 11-1 to the Hawks. The game marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Cranston West and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for Cranston East, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Cranston East couldn't quite finish off Cranston West when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 10-8. Can the Thunderbolts avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
