Basketball Recap: Marathon Victorious

Marathon won the last time they faced Stratford and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Marathon Red Raiders pulled ahead with a 62-61 photo finish over the Stratford Tigers.

Marathon's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Stratford, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marathon will take on Newman in a holiday battle at at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Stratford, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Stratford Tigers take on the Edgar Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Edgar knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Stratford likes a good challenge.
