Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Bridgeprep Village Green

BridgePrep Village Green had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They strolled past the Palm Glades Prep Academy Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 58-43. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 49-39 last Friday.

BridgePrep Village Green's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but John Carmona led the charge by going 6 of 14 on his way to 17 points along with seven steals and five boards. With that strong performance, Carmona is now averaging an impressive 2.4 steals per game. Pedro Ferreira was another key player, going 5 for 10 on his way to 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and six steals.

BridgePrep Village Green's record now sits at 5-2. As for Palm Glades Prep Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

BridgePrep Village Green will take on Pinecrest Prep in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Palm Glades Prep Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Redland Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 13, 2025.
