With the 2012 season in the books, MaxPreps honors this season's top players in the California Sac-Joaquin Section with the All-Section Football Team.
Performance during the 2012 season, stats provided to MaxPreps, as well as local postseason honors determined the selections.

Jake Browning, QB, Folsom, 6-1, 180, So.Browning started the season with a
national record-tying 10 touchdown passes and passing for 699 yards to beat Woodcreek (Roseville). Browning connected on 391 of 605 passes for 63 touchdowns and 16 interceptions and was named to the
MaxPreps Sophomore All-American Team.

Defensive Player of the Year
Zack Claiborne, DL, Oak Ridge (El Dorado Hills), 6-1, 195, Sr.According to J
oe Davidson of the Sacramento Bee, Claiborne set an all-time Sacramento-area record with 25.5 sacks for a 12-2 team. That led the state this season.
Junior Player of the YearFeaumoengalu (Ngalu) Tapa, DL, Burbank (Sacramento), 6-3, 275, Jr.Watch out for Tapa for years to come. He was second in the section with 23.5 sacks. Tapa was the
Metro League Defensive MVP.
Sophomore Player of the YearMatt Jimison, Vista del Lago (Folsom), 6-2, 185, So.The Offensive MVP of the Sierra Valley League threw for 2,592 yards and 37 touchdowns. The future is bright in the city of Folsom.

Ian Davis, WR, Nevada Union (Grass Valley), 6-3, 175, Sr.Davis led the section with 1,305 receiving yards. He had 77 receptions and over 118 yards per game. He also caught 11 touchdowns.
MaxPreps Sac-Joaquin Section Receiving LeadersTroy Knox, WR, Folsom, 5-8, 160, Jr.Caught a section-best 104 passes for 1,249 yards and 15 touchdowns for a Bulldogs team that went 14-1 and won the D-II Section title. His 1,249 yards were second overall in the section.
First Team Sacramento Bee All-Metro
Richard Lopez, WR, Downey (Modesto), 6-0, 160, Sr. Lopez led the section with 18 receiving touchdowns. In six games this season he had two or more TDs. The senior had 1,184 total receiving yards. Lopez was named
Modesto Metro's Outstanding Offensive Player.
Johnny Mundt, TE, Central Catholic (Modesto), 6-5, 235, Sr.The Oregon commit did it all for the D-IV CIF State Bowl
champions: blocking, pulling in 33 receptions for 625 yards
and eight touchdowns, and he also had 15.5 sacks on the season on defense. Was named
Western League's Most Valuable Player.
Aaron Cochran, OL, Buhach Colony (Atwater), 6-8, 340, Sr.The national recruit was a huge piece in the Thunder's offense which racked up 4,170 yards on the ground. Cochran has been offered by Oklahoma, Nebraska, and California to name a few. He was named
Central California's Lineman of the Year.
Josh Wormley, OL, Folsom, 6-1, 260, Sr.Wormley was a big reason Folsom passed for 5,248 yards and ran for 1,991 in 2012. He was named to the
Sacramento Bee All-Metro team.
Alan Gonzalez, OL, Escalon, 6-3, 275, Sr.Gonzalez led an Escalon line that paved the way to 53 touchdowns on the ground.
Daren Echeveria, OL, Antelope, 6-4, 270, Sr.Echeveria was first-team All-Metro by the
Sacramento Bee after Antelope won the Capital League title. The senior was named
Capital's Lineman of the Year.
Sam Woods, OL, Rocklin, 5-11, 265, Sr.Woods was named Lineman of the Year in a loaded Sierra Foothill League. He was also named to the
Sacramento Bee All-Metro team.Aaron Zwahlen, QB, Downey (Modesto), 6-3, 195, Sr.The Hawaii commit passed for 3,852 yards and 49 touchdowns, both numbers second in the section to Folsom's Jake Browning.

D'Juan Bellaire rushed for 150 yards or more in eight games.

Brandon Monroe, RB, Del Oro (Loomis), 6-1, 190, Sr.The
Sacramento Bee Player of the Year rushed for 1,545 yards and 17 touchdowns despite missing
three games with a knee strain. Monroe carried the Eagles on his back as they made a late postseason run. He was also named the
Sierra Foothill League's Offensive Player of the Year.
Robert Frazier, RB, Elk Grove, 5-7. 170, Sr.Frazier rushed for 2,120 yards and 22
touchdowns for the 12-2 Thundering Herd. Frazier also had five interceptions on defense. He was named to the
Sacramento Bee All-Metro team.
D'Juan Bellaire, RB, Center (Antelope), 5-6, 165, Sr.Bellaire and teammate QB
Tyrel Anderson may have been the most explosive 1-2 punch in the section. Bellaire rushed for 7.5 yards per carry. He had 2,214 yards total and 30 total touchdowns. He was
Pioneer Valley's Offensive MVP.
Thomas Sperbeck, ATH, Jesuit (Carmichael), 6-0, 175, Sr.Sperbeck did it all for Jesuit. He led the team in passing - 1049 yards, rushing - 932, tackles - 69, and scoring - 11. He was named to the
Sacramento Bee All-Metro team.
Kenny Smart, K, Central Catholic (Modesto), 6-1, 185, Sr.Smart was named the
Western League's Most Outstanding Specialty Player after making 105-out-of-106 PAT attempts. He also had 61 touchbacks on the season.

FIRST TEAM DEFENSE
Placer's Eddie Vanderdoes is one of the top defensive linemen in all of the country.

Eddie Vanderdoes, DL, Placer (Auburn), 6-3, 304, Sr.Vanderdoes
saw double teams all year but was still a major force for the Pioneer
Valley champs. The Top 100 national recruit finished the season with 72
tackles and nine sacks for an 11-1 team. Vanderdoes was the Defensive
MVP in the
Pioneer Valley League.
Quincy Capel, DL, Folsom, 5-11, 225, Sr.Capel had 100 total tackles and 10 sacks this season. He was Lineman of the Year in the Delta River League and was named to the
Sacramento Bee All-Metro team.
Beau Hershberger, DL, Granite Bay, 6-2. 230. Sr.Hershberger was named to the
Sacramento Bee All-Metro team and the
Sierra Foothill League's Linemen of the Year. The senior was a rock for the D1 California State Bowl champions.

Nikk Ryan, DL, Oakdale, 6-0, 210, Sr.The defensive end led Oakdale to is fifth consecutive league title. The
All-District Defensive MVP also rushed for 1,153 yards and 20 TDs.
Tanner Vallejo, LB, Nevada Union (Grass Valley), 6-3, 215, Sr.The Boise State commit was named to the
Sacramento Bee All-Metro team and the
Sierra Foothill League's Defensive Player of the Year. Vallejo finished with 129 total tackles.
Jeff Camilli, LB, Ponderosa (Shingle Springs), 6-4, 235, Sr.The Fresno State commit was
Co-Defensive MVP in the Delta River League after posting 123 tackles. The senior also scored eight rushing touchdowns.
Cameron Smith, LB, Granite Bay, 6-3, 220, So.The sophomore averaged 12.3 tackles per game for the state champions. He also had 3.5 sacks and four interceptions.
Joey Banks, LB, Franklin (Elk Grove), 5-9, 185, Jr.Led the 12-1 Wildcats with 135 tackles as a second-year starter. He also had six sacks and was named to the
Sacramento Bee All-Metro team.
Tyler Swortfiguer, LB, Ripon, 6-1, 200, Sr.The Trans Valley Outstanding Defensive Player of the Year had 65 solo tackles and 118 total. He was named a
First Team All-District player.
Na'im Mcgee, DB, St. Mary's (Stockton), 6-0, 185, Sr.McGee had 114 tackles, 72 solo for a team that won its sixth consecutive conference title. He was named
the
Stockton Record Defensive Player of the Year.

Isaiah Pineiro, DB, Placer (Auburn), 6-5, Sr.Pineiro was second in the section with nine interceptions for the Hillmen. He was named to the Pioneer Valley All-League team and to the Sacramento Bee All-Metro team.
Joey Abbate, DB, Central Catholic (Modesto), 5-7, 155, Sr.Abbate led the state with 11 interceptions. He had six of those picks during the postseason, including two in the state finals.
Joe Marquez, DB, Buhach Colony (Atwater), 6-0, 180, Sr.The senior did it all for the Thunder this season. He had eight interceptions, 75 total tackles, threw for 936 yards, and rushed for another 428. He was named the
Central California Conference MVP.
Chris Seisay, ATH, American Canyon, 6-2, 185, Sr.The Oregon
commit had 608 yards receiving and 11 touchdowns, made 92 tackles from
his defensive back post and had 1,077 yards of punt returns.
Jacob Sipes, P, Oak Ridge (El Dorado Hills), 6-4, 175, Jr.Sipes led the section with an average of 45.60 yards per punt. He also pinned opponents inside the 20-yard line 10 times.

SECOND TEAM OFFENSE
Andre Lindsey finished the season with 15 touchdowns for Stagg.

Andre Lindsey, WR, Stagg (Stockton), 6-3, 175, Sr.Lindsey
finished his senior season with 1,031 yards receiving. He also caught
15 touchdown passes for a Stagg team that went 9-2.
Jalen Walker, WR, Christian Brothers (Sacramento), 6-2, 190, Sr.Walker caught 65 passes for 1,026 yards and seven
touchdowns. He was the
Capital Valley Offensive Player of the Year.
Javier Rodriguez, WR, Brookside Christian (Stockton), 6-2, 170, Jr.Rodriguez
was one of three wide outs in the section to average over 100 receiving yards per
game. He had 1,031 yards in 10 games played.

Tyler Meteer, TE, Del Oro (Loomis), 6-4, 190, Jr.The junior averaged 13.87 yards per catch for the Golden Eagles. He caught 47 passes for 652 yards and six touchdowns.
Parker Doyle, OL, Granite Bay, 6-1, 205, Sr.According to Joe Davidson of the Sacramento Bee, Coach
Ernie Cooper said Doyle is perhaps the best center in program history,
dating back to the start in 1996. He was critical in the Fly sweep
success.
Ty Malone, OL, Oakdale, 5-10, 175, Sr.Another
center who played a big part in his team's success was Ty Malone from
Oakdale. The wing-t team made it all the way to the state title game.
A.J. Samataua, OL, Del Campo (Fair Oaks), 6-3, 328, Sr.The San Jose State commit was named the
Capital Valley Offensive Lineman of the Year.
Josh Bongiovanni, OL, Tracy, 5-11, 298, Sr.The senior was the anchor of a line that protected a balanced offense. He was named
first team All-Area.
Spencer Stark, OL, Central Catholic (Modesto), 6-2, 305, Jr.The
star junior lineman was a key member of a line that opened holes for two 1,500 yard backs. Stark was named first team
All-District.
Wayne Brooks, QB, Stagg (Stockton), 5-11, 185, Jr.The junior passed for
2,920 yards and 36 touchdowns. He also did it on the ground rushing for 611 yards and 12 scores. He was named the
Tri-City Most Valuable Player.
Jason Samuels, QB, Oak Ridge (El Dorado Hills), 6-4, 185, Sr.The
senior quarterback averaged 185.4 yards passing per game this season
for the section runners-up. He completed 192 passes for 2,595 yards and
28 touchdowns.

Nathan Chunn, RB, Escalon, 6-0, 190, Sr.Chunn led the section with 2,240 yards on the ground. He averaged 160 yards per game and had 34 touchdowns. He was named the
San Joaquin County Player of the Year.
Ray Lomas IV, RB, Central Catholic (Modesto), 5-8, 180, Sr.Rushed
for 2,084 yards and 34 touchdowns for a school that won the D-IV section, the D-III NorCal Regional and
the D-IV CIF State Bowl game.
Anthony Cota, RB, Sierra (Manteca), 6-2, 209, Sr.The
Stockton Record Player of the Year ended up with 38 touchdowns rushing, which was first in the section. Cota finished his senior year with 1,966 total rushing yards.
Josiah Johnson, ATH, Sacramento, Sr.The
Metro League MVP was third in the section with 3,522 total yards passing. He threw 42 touchdowns. He also rushed for 700 yards and seven TDs.
Colin Brown, K, Granite Bay (Granite Bay)Brown connected on 10-of-13 field goals this season, including a 41 and 37-yard field goal in the state championship game.

Trey Olsen, DL, Oakmont (Roseville), 6-4, 210, Jr.Olsen had 111 tackles this season and another six sacks. He was named the Capital Valley Defensive Player of the Year.
Jamell Bedford DL, Merced, 6-0, 273, Jr.The junior racked up 88 total tackles and 4.5 sacks for the 7-4 Merced Bears. Bedford was named first team
All-District.

Preston Dobbins, DL, Center (Antelope), 5-10, 210, Sr.The senior had 12.5 sacks for a defense that allowed just over 14 points per game.
Daniel Lyle, DL, Argonaut (Jackson), 6-5, 295, Jr.Lyle helped a defense that allowed just 10 points per game. He was named first team All-Area by the
Stockton Record and
Mother Lode League Lineman of the Year.
Trevor Coleman, LB, Atwater, 6-3, 200, Sr.The
Central California Conference Defensive Player of the Year had 121 tackles and three sacks on the season. He averaged 11 tackles per game.
Joshua Henry, LB, Franklin (Stockton), 5-10, 190, Sr.The Stockton Record
First Team All-Area linebacker had 121 tackles on the season. He was named San Joaquin Athletic Association's defensive player of the year.
Eteuati Levi, LB, Cosumnes Oaks (Elk Grove), 5-8, 210, Sr.Levi was named the Sierra Valley Defensive Player of the Year. He had 129 total tackles and three sacks.
Abnor Toma, LB, Grant (Sacramento), 6-0, 205, Sr.Toma was a tackling machine for the Pacers. He had 141 total tackles and was named to the
Sacramento Bee All-Metro team.
Darius Henton, LB, Brookside Christian (Stockton), 6-0, 225, Sr.Henton was named a first team
All-Area linebacker by the Stockton Record after a monster season. He had 150+ tackles, 12 rushing touchdowns, four sacks, and 10 passes defensed.
Herman Harris, DB, Downey (Modesto), 6-1, 180, Sr.Harris was the Defensive Player of the Year in the Modesto Metro Conference after intercepting five passes and in on 41 tackles. He returned two of those picks for scores and also had two more touchdowns on punt returns. He was also named first team
All District.
Marcus Green, DB, Franklin (Elk Grove), 6-0, 175, Sr.Green had five interceptions on the season and 56 total tackles for the 12-1 Wildcats. He was named to the
Sacramento Bee All-Metro team and Delta Valley Defensive Player of the Year.

Delvonte Moore, DB, Los Banos, 5-10, 180, Sr.Moore made plays all over the field. He had five interceptions, 32 total tackles, and nine touchdowns on the season. He was named the
Western Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year.
Aaron Knapp, DB, Granite Bay, 5-10, 170, Sr.A
verbal baseball commit to Cal, Knapp averaged five tackles per game and had seven
interceptions.
Trayvon Henderson, ATH, Grant (Sacramento), 6-3, 210, Sr.According to Joe Davidson of the Sacramento Bee, Henderson was dominant
in all facets of the game, including punting. He caught 673 yards of
passes for eight touchdowns, had 113 tackles from his safety spot and
had four interceptions.
He also earned Sacramento Bee All-Metro honors.
P-Vincent Chelini, River City (West Sacramento), 6-3, 170, Sr.The Sierra Valley All-League punter averaged 43.30 yards per punt for River City. He was also named to the
Sacramento Bee All-Metro team.
