Basketball Recap: Springfield Extends Winning Streak to Four

Springfield hadn't done well against Clarksville recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets rang in the new year with a 45-35 win over the Wildcats. The victory was familiar territory for the Yellow Jackets, who have now won four contests in a row.

Springfield got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Xavionna Farmer out in front who posted nine points along with seven rebounds and five steals. That's the most steals Farmer has posted since back in February of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyler Wilson, who scored ten points in addition to seven boards and four blocks.

Despite the loss, Clarksville still got an impressive performance from Shakiah Vance, who put up 15 points. The game was Vance's sixth in a row with at least 15 points.

Springfield's record is now 13-3. As for Clarksville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Springfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 87-60 defeat against Nashville Christian on the 10th. As for Clarksville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 33-22 victory against Rossview on the 9th.
