Baseball Recap: Marcellus' Win Ends Eight-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Marcellus hadn't done well against Homer recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Mustangs came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 8-5. The game was the first time the Mustangs have beaten the Trojans on their field since May 15, 2015.

The team relied heavily on Gavin Foy, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high. Chris Loveless was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Marcellus' win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-11. As for Homer, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Coming up, Marcellus will host Chittenango at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Homer, they will be playing at home against Dryden at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
