Baseball Recap: Newtown Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Joel Barlow, Newtown was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They walked away with an 11-7 victory over the New Fairfield Rebels. Considering the Nighthawks' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Newtown's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5. As for New Fairfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.

The Nighthawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season. As for New Fairfield, they will venture away from home to square off against Bethel at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Rebels surely won't give up without a fight.
