Basketball Game Preview: Ocosta Wildcats vs. Oakville Acorns

The Ocosta Wildcats will face off against the Oakville Acorns at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Ocosta has five straight victories, Oakville has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Ocosta will head into Saturday's match hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 25-point drubbing they dealt North Beach on Saturday. Everything went Ocosta's way against North Beach as Ocosta made off with a 55-30 win.

Meanwhile, Oakville came up short against Pe Ell on Thursday and fell 44-32.

Ocosta has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.1 points per game. As for Oakville, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.

Ocosta beat Oakville 60-51 in their previous matchup back in November of 2021. Will Ocosta repeat their success, or does Oakville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
