Baseball Recap: Glenbrook South Takes a Loss

Glenbrook South fell victim to Glenbrook North and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 2-0. That's two games in a row now that the Titans have lost by exactly two runs.

Blake Hoffer was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

This is the second loss in a row for Glenbrook South and nudges their season record down to 12-18. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only two runs. As for Glenbrook North, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-13.

While Glenbrook South had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
