Soccer Recap: Triad Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Triad couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Springfield Senators who were credited with the win on Tuesday. The Springfield Senators got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Triad Knights' two. Having soared to a lofty seven goals in the game before, Triad couldn't push the score so high this time.

Their goal came courtesy of Emma Correale, who's now up to nine this season.

Triad moved to 19-6 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Springfield, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 25-1-1.

Triad does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Springfield, they will take on Peoria Notre Dame at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Peoria Notre Dame's defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so Springfield's offense will have their work cut out for them.
