Baseball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Delhi's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Denair, Delhi was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Orland Trojans a 2-0 shutout.

Delhi's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Isac Vargas, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Delhi is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Orland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-9.

Delhi wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Modesto on the 22nd. As for Orland, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-5 defeat against Beyer on the 22nd.
