Volleyball Recap: Hillarie Buchanan and Jocelyn Johnson Secure Win for Southwestern

Southwestern won the last time they faced Clarksville and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Rebels blew past the Generals 3-0. The matchup marked the Rebels' most dominant win of the season so far.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Southwestern was: they took every set by at least 14 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-11, 25-11.

Leading Southwestern to victory were Jocelyn Johnson and Hillarie Buchanan. Johnson had 12 digs and one assist, while Buchanan had 15 assists and seven aces. Those seven aces gave Buchanan a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Southwestern was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Southwestern's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Clarksville, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Southwestern has already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Salem on the 26th. As for Clarksville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Lanesville on the 21st.
