Basketball Recap: Tuscumbia Takes a Loss

Tuscumbia lost against Calvary Lutheran back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Tuscumbia Lions lost to the Calvary Lutheran Lions on the road by a 59-45 margin. While losing is never fun, Tuscumbia can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 488th, while Calvary Lutheran is ranked 141st).

Tuscumbia's loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Calvary Lutheran, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Tuscumbia Lions take on the Stoutland Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Calvary Lutheran, they will head out to face off against Eugene at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Calvary Lutheran is facing Eugene at the right time seeing as Eugene is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
