Basketball Recap: Sonora's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Two

If Escalon wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Sonora, they should've done a better job of containing Jonathan Curran. The Sonora Wildcats managed a 54-50 win over the Escalon Cougars on Wednesday thanks in part to Curran, who went 11 for 15 on his way to 32 points and six rebounds. What's more, he also racked up two steals, the most he's had since back in February of 2024.

Luke Otterson was another key player, putting up ten points along with seven rebounds and five assists. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played.

The victory made it two in a row for Sonora and bumps their season record up to 10-6. As for Escalon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.

Sonora didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-35 win against Orestimba on the 10th. As for Escalon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 59-41 victory against Hilmar on the 10th.
