Recap: Venice Indians vs. Clearwater Academy International Knights
The Venice Indians waltzed into Friday's matchup with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They walked away with a 53-42 victory over Clearwater Academy International. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Jamarice Wilder got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 177 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Jayce Barlsdale, who picked up 125 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Venice's win was their seventh straight at home , which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.0 points per game. As for Clearwater Academy International, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-5.
Venice's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Lakewood Ranch at 7:30 p.m. on November 10th. Lakewood Ranch will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 306th, while Venice is ranked 14th). Clearwater Academy International does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
