Volleyball Recap: Newnan Falls to St. Anne-Pacelli in First Game of Season

Newnan kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings by a score of 3-2. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Vikings when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Newnan actually scored more points across those five sets (103-89), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-20, 12-25, 12-25, 15-13.

Newnan's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sarah Frank, who had 18 digs and three assists, and Mia West, who had six digs and two aces.

St. Anne-Pacelli found their leader in sophomore Allie Vickery, who had seven digs and two aces.

Newnan didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Heard County on the 7th. As for St. Anne-Pacelli, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Pike County on the 7th.
