Preview: Pieper Warriors vs. Liberty Hill Panthers

The Pieper Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Liberty Hill Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Pieper's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last seven contests.

Pieper can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They breezed by Lockhart at home to the tune of 48-21. Given Pieper's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 117th, while Lockhart is ranked 615th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Jake South, who threw for 424 yards and five touchdowns. South is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Jake Stratchan also helped with two touchdowns in total.

Meanwhile, Liberty Hill entered their tilt with Bastrop with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Liberty Hill blew past Bastrop 81-31 on the road. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.

Liberty Hill can attribute much of their success to Ben Carter, who rushed for 263 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries, and Noah Long, who gained 290 total yards and five touchdowns. Carter's longest rush was for an incredible 99 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Dj Seaborn, who rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown.

Pieper's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points per game. As for Liberty Hill, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Pieper was taken down by Liberty Hill 47-7 in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Can Pieper avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
