Basketball Game Preview: Olympian Eagles vs. Eastlake Titans

Olympian and Eastlake are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Olympian Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Eastlake Titans at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Olympian is headed into Friday's contest hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They were outmatched by Montgomery and fell 69-30. The match marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Eastlake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt an 82-37 defeat at the hands of Victory Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 440th, while the Knights are ranked 213th).

Eastlake's loss dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Olympian, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 19-4.

Everything went Olympian's way against Eastlake when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Olympian made off with a 65-44 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Olympian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
