Baseball Recap: Wickliffe Comes Up Short

Wickliffe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Orange Lions. That's two games in a row now that the Blue Devils have lost by just one run.

Dominic Porcello was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

Wickliffe's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Orange, their win bumped their record up to 4-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wickliffe will take on Beachwood at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Orange, they will square off against Bristol at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
