Softball Recap: Adena Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Adena entered their tilt with River Valley on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Raiders 15-1. Considering the Warriors have won six contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Addy Cottrill made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Marly Halcomb and Adriana Guarnieri did most of the damage at the plate: Halcomb went 3-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two runs, while Guarnieri scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Adelynn Nelson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Adena's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for River Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Adena will venture away from home to take on Chillicothe at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for River Valley, they will head out to face off against Meigs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
