Basketball Recap: Horizon Comes Up Short

On Wednesday, the Horizon Hawks lost to the Ida B. Wells Guardians on the road by a 50-35 margin.

Despite the defeat, Horizon saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Genia Harris posted ten points and five rebounds. Bella Alvarado was another key player, putting up seven points.

Horizon now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Ida B. Wells, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Horizon will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Niwot at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Ida B. Wells, they are taking a road trip to face off against Glencoe at 1:30 p.m. on December 27th.
