Basketball Recap: Jenkins Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Jenkins hadn't done well against Benedictine recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Warriors walked away with a 51-43 win over the Cadets. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Warriors as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Jordon Massey went supernova, going 7-for-12 en route to 26 points along with six boards and four steals. Those four steals gave him a new career-high. Dominique Johnson was another key player, shooting 45% from the field to rack up 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists.

Benedictine's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyree Richards, who posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of CaRon Hall, who earned nine points along with seven steals and five boards.

Jenkins' win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Benedictine, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Looking ahead, Jenkins and Andrew Jackson will face off at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. Benedictine and Beach will compete for holiday cheer at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
