Softball Recap: Destin Takes a Loss

After flying high against Pensacola last Friday, Destin came back down to earth. Destin lost 13-4 to the Freeport Bulldogs on Tuesday. The Sharks haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Keelie Ellis made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.

Destin's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Freeport, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Destin will challenge Notre Dame Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Freeport, they will face off against Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Freeport's pitchers better be ready for this one: Central has averaged an impressive 12.6 runs per game this season.
