Softball Preview: Concord Spiders vs. Northwest Cabarrus Trojans

Concord hasn't had much luck against Northwest Cabarrus recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Concord Spiders will challenge the Northwest Cabarrus Trojans at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Concord took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against South Stanly, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Concord narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past South Stanly 6-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spiders.

Alexa Hooks made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over six innings pitched.
