Baseball Recap: Hamilton Gets the Win

Hamilton's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They never let the Sherman Indian Braves get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Braves recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Joey Alvarez and Adam Barreto were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Alvarez tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Barreto tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Hamilton is 5-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-6 otherwise. At the plate, Alvarez went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Barreto got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Barreto has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Jaden Garcia was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Hamilton is undefeated when Garcia posts two or more runs, but 4-7 otherwise.

Hamilton's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Sherman Indian, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11-1.

Looking ahead, Hamilton will take on California Lutheran at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The C Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.75 runs per game on average), something the Bobcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Sherman Indian, they will square off against United Christian Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
