Baseball Recap: Conant Takes a Loss

Conant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Palatine Pirates. Cougars fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Pirates since on Monday.

Alex Martinez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Arjun Patel was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Conant's record now sits at 7-5-1. As for Palatine, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

While Conant had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
