Softball Recap: Barringer Has No Trouble Against West Side

Barringer barely beat West Side the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Blue Bears blew past the Roughriders 14-3 on Thursday. The Blue Bears haven't had any issues with the Roughriders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Alana Castillo was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jaydalynn Rodriguez, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Barringer's win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Barringer will challenge St. Vincent Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The contest will give the Blue Bears their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for West Side, they will square off against Science Park at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
