Baseball Recap: Hollis Victorious

While Hollis's win against Burns Flat-Dill City wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Eagles 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted since April 15, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Graydon Whorton, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Hollis: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-12-1 otherwise. Klay Seddon was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-5.

Hollis has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-12-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Burns Flat-Dill City, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-11.
