Soccer Game Preview: Stillwater vs. Woodbury

The Stillwater Ponies will face off against the Woodbury Royals at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few goals on average (Stillwater 0.4, Woodbury 0.4) so any goals scored will be well earned.

Stillwater is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Minnesota's top teams: White Bear Lake, who was ranked 15th at the time (Stillwater was ranked fourth). Neither the Ponies nor the Bears could gain the upper hand on Tuesday so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw. The result kept Stillwater happy, as they haven't lost a game since August 28th.

Meanwhile, Woodbury entered their tilt with Roseville on Tuesday with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Their defense stepped up to hand the Raiders a 2-0 shutout. Woodbury's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last five contests.

With that draw, Stillwater's record moves to 13-1-2. As for Woodbury, their victory bumped their record up to 11-1-1.
