Soccer Recap: Deerfield Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Deerfield was not quite Crystal Lake Central's equal in the second half on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Deerfield of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Deerfield's loss dropped their record down to 11-8-2. As for Crystal Lake Central, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-4-1.

Deerfield wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 9-0 win against Maine East on the 13th. As for Crystal Lake Central, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 6-0 victory against Hampshire on the 13th.
