Basketball Game Preview: Wayne Warriors vs. Springboro Panthers

The Wayne Warriors will venture away from home to challenge the Springboro Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Wayne was handed a 27-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They skirted past Springfield 53-50. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Springboro was able to grind out a solid win over Beavercreek on Friday, taking the game 59-50. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Beavers are ranked 450th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Springboro's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Wayne, their win bumped their record up to 13-4.

Wayne came out on top in a nail-biter against Springboro in their previous meeting back in January, sneaking past 55-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
