Football Recap: Modesto Takes a Loss

Modesto was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 42-14 loss at the hands of the Ripon Indians. The Panthers were down 28-6 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Although Modesto took the loss, they still got scores from Jordan Pitts and Izzy Ceniceros.

Andrew Shaw had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 63 yards and one TD on only seven carries, while also throwing for 120 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes for Ripon.

Modesto now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Ripon, their record now sits at 4-1.

Looking ahead, Modesto will head out on the road to square off against Pitman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Panthers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Ripon, they will welcome Orestimba at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
