Recap: Douglas County Huskies vs. Pine Creek Eagles
The Douglas County Huskies lost against the Pine Creek Eagles back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Douglas County took a 33-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pine Creek. While losing is never fun, Douglas County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 49th, while Pine Creek is ranked fourth).
Although Douglas County took the loss, they still got scores from Tate Peterson, Cameron Cayou, and Alex Abramowitz.
Jonathan Coar got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 229 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry.
Douglas County now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Pine Creek, their victory was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-1.
Douglas County will take on Legend at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pine Creek, they will head out on the road to face off against Chaparral at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Chaparral comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
