Softball Recap: Soddy Daisy's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Soddy Daisy hadn't done well against Silverdale Academy recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Trojans narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Seahawks 4-2. The win was familiar territory for the Trojans, who have now won four contests in a row.

Abby Pinson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Skylar Gooden, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Soddy Daisy's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-12-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Silverdale Academy, their defeat ended a 25-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 22-5-1.

Soddy Daisy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Seahawks: the pair will be back at it again later today.
