Basketball Game Preview: St. Charles vs. Westlake Wolverines

St. Charles will head out on the road to square off against the Westlake Wolverines at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

St. Charles took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Patuxent 68-24. The victory continues a trend for St. Charles in their matchups with Patuxent: they've now won eight in a row.

Westlake hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They came out on top against La Plata by a score of 49-40 on Friday.

St. Charles pushed their record up to 12-6 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.5 points. As for Westlake, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.

St. Charles was able to grind out a solid win over Westlake in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 59-49. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Westlake's Emma Fonke, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds.
