Volleyball Recap: Burlington Comes Up Short

After flying high against Wakefield Memorial on Monday, Burlington came back down to earth. The Red Devils lost 3-0 to the Arlington Spy Ponders on Wednesday. The Red Devils have struggled against the Spy Ponders recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

While Burlington was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-15, 25-22.

Their offense was headlined by Emmanuel Mendoza and Ayan Suhail, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Ashneel Ejenkar and his five assists.

Burlington's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Arlington, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Burlington will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Lexington at 5:30 p.m. The Minutemen will roll in looking for their 17th straight victory, something the Red Devils surely won't give up without a fight. As for Arlington, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Belmont at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
