Soccer Game Preview: Junipero Serra vs. Valley Christian

The Junipero Serra Padres will face off against the Valley Christian Warriors at 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Junipero Serra's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Valley Christian has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.

On Saturday, Junipero Serra narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past St. Ignatius College Preparatory 2-1. The Padres haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Lucas Faggiolly and Nate Coughlin scored both of Junipero Serra's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 24 goals.

Meanwhile, Valley Christian came up short against Bellarmine College Prep on Saturday, falling 7-1. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 3-0.

Junipero Serra's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Valley Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.
