Basketball Recap: Compton Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Compton put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 49-45 W against the Northview Vikings.

Compton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Roman Sims, who went 8-for-17 en route to 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The matchup was Sims' third in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Suavius Denem, who posted 12 points and four steals.

Compton's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Northview, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Compton will square off against Burroughs at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Northview, they will challenge El Monte at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
