Volleyball Recap: Cuyahoga Falls Comes Up Short

Cuyahoga Falls was the 2-0 winner over Villa Angela-St. Joseph when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Black Tigers lost 3-0 to the Vikings on Tuesday.

While Cuyahoga Falls ultimately came up short, they really made Villa Angela-St. Joseph work, particularly in the third set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-19, 26-24.

Joey Stiffler paced Cuyahoga Falls' offense, picking up 17 kills. Stiffler got some help from Lucas Hummel and his 18 assists. Jake Moore controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Cuyahoga Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Villa Angela-St. Joseph, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Cuyahoga Falls wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against North on the 8th. As for Villa Angela-St. Joseph, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against St. Martin de Porres on the 7th.
