            Softball Recap: Pleasant Valley Bears vs. Emmaus Hornets        
        
		
        
        
            Pleasant Valley dropped their record down to 12-8 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They took  a  6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Emmaus Hornets. Having soared to a lofty 13  runs in the game before, the Bears couldn't push the score so high this time.
As for Emmaus, they pushed their record up to 18-3 with the  victory, which was their 21st straight  at home dating back to last season. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average this season.
For Emmaus' part,  Mari Eiswerth spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a  run (which was  unearned)  on one hit and racked up 14 Ks.
 On the hitting side,  Sadie Haefeli was  incredible,  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Avery DeFanti, who  went 1-for-3 with one  home run.
 Looking ahead, Pleasant Valley will host Wallenpaupack Area  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Emmaus, they will square off against Nazareth Area at 7:00  p.m.  on Monday. The Hornets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Eagles have averaged an impressive 9.1  runs per game this season.
