Basketball Recap: North Side Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

North Side won the last time they faced Riverside and things went their way on Friday too. The North Side Gators managed a 42-38 victory over the Riverside Bulldogs. Given the Gators' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 218th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

North Side pushed their record up to 15-8 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.9 points per game. As for Riverside, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Coincidentally, North Side and Riverside will both be playing O'Bannon the next time they take the court. North Side will head out to face O'Bannon at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Riverside will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
