Basketball Game Preview: East Eagles vs. Honeoye Falls-Lima Cougars

The East Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Honeoye Falls-Lima Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. East knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Honeoye Falls-Lima likes a good challenge.

On Saturday, everything went East's way against Greece Arcadia as East made off with a 60-34 victory. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 26 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Honeoye Falls-Lima unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak last Saturday. They came up short against Aquinas Institute, falling 68-45. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Little Irish are ranked sixth).

East's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.7 points. As for Honeoye Falls-Lima, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-3.

East came up short against Honeoye Falls-Lima when the teams last played back in January of 2020, falling 60-49. Can East avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
