Baseball Game Preview: Dutch Fork Silver Foxes vs. Brookland-Cayce Bearcats

For the second straight game, Dutch Fork will face off against Brookland-Cayce. The Silver Foxes will welcome the Bearcats at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Dutch Fork has five straight victories, Brookland-Cayce has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

While Dutch Fork's win against Brookland-Cayce wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Silver Foxes had just enough and edged out the Bearcats 5-3.

Dutch Fork got a great performance from Boone Miller as he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off only one hit. Those nine strikeouts gave Miller a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Dutch Fork saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Coleman Fryer, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Brookland-Cayce's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Dutch Fork, their victory bumped their record up to 15-5.
