Softball Recap: Trinity Christian Trojans vs. St. Pius X Panthers

There's no place like home for Trinity Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in April. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the St. Pius X Panthers on Tuesday.

Avery Booker was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Booker has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive pitching appearances. Booker was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Trinity Christian let Ann Marie Martinez and Hannah Adams loose on the outfield. Martinez scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Adams went 1-for-3 with three RBI and a triple.

On St. Pius X's side, Julie Tresco led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-3 with a stolen base, two RBI, and a double. Margo Kieschnick was another key contributor, going 1-for-3 with a home run.

Trinity Christian pushed their record up to 5-7 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for St. Pius X, their loss dropped their record down to 18-14-1.
