Volleyball Recap: Fremont Comes Up Short on the Road Against Lakewood Park Christian

Fremont kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 2-0 to the Lakewood Park Christian Panthers. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Fremont was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-20.

Kaylee Neuenschwander paced Fremont's offense, picking up six kills. Neuenschwander got some help from Mallorie Hufnagle and her 12 assists. Chloe Verdin controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Lakewood Park Christian has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Fremont has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Fort Wayne Canterbury on the 16th. As for Lakewood Park Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Central Noble on the 19th.
