Softball Recap: Sparkman Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Sparkman waltzed into their game on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top against the Huntsville Panthers by a score of 14-9. This was a revenge game for the Senators: when they faced off against the Panthers back in March, they had to take a 2-0 defeat.

The team relied heavily on Raychel Harmon, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bella Mayfield, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Harmon wasn't the only one making solid contact: Sparkman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Sparkman's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 29-9-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Huntsville, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-11-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sparkman will square off against Albertville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Huntsville, they will venture away from home to face off against Buckhorn at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
