Basketball Recap: Salem Takes a Loss

On Saturday, the Salem Sundevils lost to the Nansemond River Warriors on the road by a 50-34 margin. That's two games in a row now that the Sundevils have lost by exactly 16 points.

Salem's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Nansemond River, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Salem will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Kellam at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Nansemond River, they will finish 2024 at home by hosting L.C. Bird at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Nansemond River is on a four-game streak of home wins, L.C. Bird a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
