Softball Recap: Mount Dora Christian Academy's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Mount Dora Christian Academy came tearing into Tuesday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Orangewood Christian Rams as they made off with a 15-3 victory. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by seven runs or more this season.

Trinty DeVries spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Presley Miller, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Katie Bayly was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Mount Dora Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Orangewood Christian only managed four hits.

Mount Dora Christian Academy pushed their record up to 16-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Orangewood Christian, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-6-1.

Mount Dora Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-0 win against Trinity Prep on the 10th. As for Orangewood Christian, they have also already played their next match, an 11-0 victory against Lake Highland Prep on the 10th.
